Seven auto burglaries reported over weekend

Electronics and a gun were missing Monday after a string of burglaries in Vicksburg over the weekend. Friday at 1:30 p.m., a Michael Kors purse valued at $275 was stolen from a 2013 Dodge Durango on the 1700 block of Monroe Street. At 6:30 p.m., a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol was stolen from a 1996 Nissan Maxima on the 1300 block of Washington Street. At 9 p.m., a RedMax weed eater valued at $400 was stolen from the back of a 2005 Ford F-350 at the 1100 block of Second North Street. At 11 p.m., a Dell laptop valued at $450, a watch valued at $50, a necklace valued at $200, a computer bag filled with DVDS and a cell phone were stolen from a vehicle on the 1200 block of First North Street. On Sunday, a radio was stolen from a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe on the 10 block of Bugle Ridge Drive. A small amount of change was also taken from a 2006 Lexus at the same location. At 5:30 a.m. this morning, a JVC CD player valued at $400 and 50 CDs were stolen from a 1987 Chevrolet truck at 4225 I-20 Frontage Road.
