Man held in meth case

A Vicksburg man accused of drug and gun possession was held without bail this morning.
Tommy Alexander Jr., 25, 1780 Glass St., was arrested at about 1 a.m. today by patrolman Ben Patrick and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm after felony conviction, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Alexander was stopped by Patrick for a traffic violation, and the officer discovered the drugs and weapon, Williams said.
Alexander was held without bail this morning in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting his initial court appearance.

Electronics hot in auto burglaries
Electronics were missing this morning following three auto burglaries reported Wednesday morning on Buchan Drive.
At 4:54 a.m., assorted tools valued at $160, a MacBook laptop computer valued at $1,500, a Toshiba television valued at $100, a wallet and a set of Larry the Cable Guy CDs valued at $100 were reported stolen from a 1998 Dodge truck in the 200 block of Buchan Drive, according to Warren County sheriffs records.
At 5:02 a.m., an iPod valued at $200, three cellphone chargers, $20 in change, half a carton of cigarettes, two pairs of crutches and three pocket knives were reported stolen from a 2001 Ford F-150 in the same block of Buchan Drive.
At 7:05 a.m., two sets of speakers were reported stolen from a Chrysler car in the 100 block of Buchan Drive.
Buchan Drive runs east from the 8000 block of Halls Ferry Road north of Nailor Road.
Additionally, a 2004 Dodge Stratus with Mississippi license plate WAZ469 was reported missing from the 8000 block of Halls Ferry, according to sheriff’s records.

Tools, mower missing
A lawn mower and tools were missing this morning following two thefts reported Wednesday in Vicksburg.
At 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, a Hustler mower valued at $3,000 was reported stolen from a home in the 900 block of Third North Street, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
At 9:20 a.m., a toolbox valued at $60 and assorted tools valued at $250 were reported stolen from a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado at DiamondJacks Casino, 3990 Washington St., Williams said.

Dog reported stolen
A pit bull was missing this morning after being stolen from a yard in Vicksburg.
At 6:15 a.m. Sunday, the brown pit bull, valued at $1,500, was reported missing from a home in the 1200 block of West Magnolia Street, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
