A Vicksburg man faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving a three-car collision early this morning on U.S. 80 near Greenhill Road in which an Edwards woman and her 9-year-old son were killed and two others injured, Mississippi Highway Patrol Cpl. Eric Henry said

According to Warren County Jail records, Cedrick Blackmore, 30, 565 Smallwood Drive, was being held without bond pending an initial appearance in justice court. Blackmore is accused of rear-ending a car and causing it to cross into the opposite lane and hit another car head-on, killing two people. The accident occurred about 2:45 a.m. today. State police said more charges could be filed as the investigation continued.

Warren County Corner Doug Huskey said Cadelia Harris, 40, and her son, Jarrett Nelson, 9, were declared dead at the scene of the accident. He said the bodies were sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab.

Henry said Trameka Flowers, 22, and an unidentified passenger in her car were taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center with serious injuries.

According to MHP reports, Flowers was westbound on U.S. 80 when the car she was driving was hit in the rear by a maroon Chrysler 300 driven by Blackmore. The collision caused Flowers to lose control of her car, cross the center line and collide head-on with the car driven by Harris, which was eastbound.

The Blackmore left the scene, but was later found at his home on Smallwood Street and taken into custody.
