CARL G. COLLINS JR.

UTICA Carl G. Collins Jr. died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. He was 57.

A lifelong resident of Utica, Mr. Collins had lived in Lucedale for four months. He was retired from the Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg. He was a member of the Utica Masonic Lodge and the Woodmen of the World. He was a member of the Utica Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl G. Sr. and Ann Marjorie Graham Collins.

Survivors include a sister, Angie C. Little of Utica; four brothers, William Stanley Collins of Canton, Ohio, James David Collins of Jackson, Robert Phillip Collins and Desi Lee Collins, both of Lucedale; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with the Rev. Steve Digby officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Pat Conerly, Michael Cox, Wallace Collins, Gerald Smith, Joe L. Ferguson and Brian Collins.

JEWELL HYNUM

PORT GIBSON Jewell Hynum died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Country Brook Living Center in Brookhaven. She was 93.

A native of Port Gibson, Mrs. Hynum was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith. She lived in Vicksburg and Port Gibson for a number of years and recently moved to Brookhaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Hynum; two sisters, Olis Baker and Thelma Mason; a granddaughter, Linda Scott; and two grandsons, Johnny Hynum and Wayne Hynum.

Survivors include two sons, Robert B. Hynum of Vicksburg and Linton C. Hynum of West Monroe; six daughters, Mildred Hynum of Brookhaven, Betty Wade of Pearl, Margaret Brown of McBride and Edna Raines of Vicksburg; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Guion-Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Wintergreen cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Andy Grice, Jim Smith, Michael Tanner, Skipper Whittington, Rick Wade and Jimmy Hynum.

TINA ISAAC

Services for Tina Isaac will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Delta City, Miss., with the Rev. L.D. Adley officiating. Burial will follow at Sago Cemetery in Panther Burn under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.

Mrs. Isaac died Monday, July 31, 2000, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 99.

She is survived by a great-niece, Gloria Smith of Vicksburg; and other nieces and nephews and other relatives.

CHARLES EARL JONES

ROLLING FORK Services for Charles Earl “C.J.” Jones will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with Elder Dennis Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Walker Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the service Saturday at the church.

Mr. Jones died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 42.

He is survived by a son, Jormall Watson of Rolling Fork; two daughters, Charlotte Jones and

Crystal Jones, both of Marietta, Ga.; his mother, Isabell Jones of Rolling Fork; his father, Ivory

Jones of Rolling Fork; eight brothers, Alvin Moreland and Dennis Jones, both of Waukegan, Ill., Milton Moreland and Barry Moreland, both of Zion, Ill., Michael Moreland of Marianna, Ark., Marvin Jones of El Paso, Ivory Jones Jr. of Memphis and Donnell Whitney of Cahokia, Ill.; four sisters, Gloria Moreland and Doris “Ree” Jones, both of Rolling Fork, Beverly “Nee Nee” Williams of Fort Hood, Texas, and Diane Harris of Aberdeen; two grandchildren and other relatives.

T.L. McREYNOLDS

T.L. “Tommy” McReynolds died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 75.

Mr. McReynolds retired as a section foreman from Illinois Central Railroad after 32 years of service. A longtime resident of Bolton, he was a member of Bolton Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 326. He was a hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Condia McReynolds of Bolton; three brothers, Cecil McReynolds of Baton Rouge, B.A. McReynolds of Brandon and Robert McReynolds of Jackson; a sister, Margaret Wilkerson of Vicksburg; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

ALTA H. PRIEST

TALLULAH Alta Priest died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 96.

Mrs. Priest lived in Tallulah for the past 13 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Arthur Priest; and a son, Paul Harold Priest.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Rabb of Tallulah; four grandchildren, eight grandchildren and other relatives, including Elmo Rabb of Tallulah.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating.

MELISSA ANN WILLIAMS

SATARTIA Melissa Ann Williams died Thursday, July 27, 2000 at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson. She was 29.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Elbethel M.B. Church in Satartia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Williams Sr. and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by a daughter, Shaquayla Williams of Yazoo City; a son, Cordney Williams of Yazoo City; her mother and step-father, Willie Lee Williams and Johnnie Lee Anderson, both of Satartia; two sisters, Annie Lee Armstead of Batesville and Doris Williams of Satartia; two brothers, Leroy Williams of Satartia and Vernon Pampley of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces, nephews and other relatives including John Evans of Yazoo City.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Satartia will the Rev. Henry Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer & Collins Funeral Home.
