PETER GENTRY
ANGUILLA Peter Gentry died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at his home in Hollandale.
He was 49.
Mr. Gentry is survived by two sons, Peter Gentry Jr. of Japan and James Redmon of Greenville; two daughters, Tonie Gentry of Rolling Fork and Corina Riley of Dallas; eight brothers, Otis Gentry, John Gentry, Robert Gentry, James Gentry and Earnest Gentry, all of California, Leroy Gentry of North Carolina, Johnny Gentry of Rolling Fork and Curtis Gentry of Chattanooga; one sister, Addie Gentry of Mayersville; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla with the Rev. Henry Hadglen officiating. Burial will follow at Anguilla Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
JOYCE MANN
Joyce Mann died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at her home in Vicksburg.
She was 42.
Mrs. Mann was born in Lampasas, Texas, and had lived in Vicksburg since 1986. She was a shipping clerk at Cooper Lighting.
She is survived by a son, Shane Begley of Fort Drum, N.Y.; a daughter, Kodie Mann of Pearl; two brothers, John Burt Hinson of Seguin, Texas, and Ernie Vanderleest of Granbury, Texas; and one grandchild.
Briggs-Camel-Wilcox Funeral Home in Lampasas will handle arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home.
HELEN LOUISE OWEN
TALLULAH Helen Louise Owen died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah.
She was 88.
Mrs. Owen was a housewife and native of Waldo, Ark. She had lived in Tallulah for a number of years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Frazier Cemetery in Magnolia, Ark., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home.
ALICIA A. SMITH
EDWARDS Alicia A. Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.
She was 40.
A housewife, Mrs. Smith was a native of Edwards. She attended Mount Moriah and Edwards Junior High School. She graduated from Hinds A.H.S. in Utica and received an associate degree in medical technology from Utica Junior College.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Nelson and Oceal Lloyd.
She was a member of Mount Moriah M.B. Church in Edwards.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny A. Smith of Anchorage; a son, Kamaal K. Smith of Anchorage; two daughters, Courtney Allen and Kristian C. Smith, both of Anchorage; a stepdaughter, Shavon Y. Davis of Port Gibson; her mother and stepfather, Delois and Alvin Smith Sr. of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Heidia Clark and Lucille Green, both of Shaw, Miss.; seven brothers, Terry Nickerson Sr. of Columbia, Mo., and Flave Nickerson, Darryl Clark, Logan Clark, Trovers Clark, Alvin T. Brown and Alvin E. Smith, all of Miami; three grandchildren; and other relatives, including Mary A. Hill of Los Angeles.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Moriah M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 8 today at Lakeover Funeral Home of Jackson.
