tailspin prompts changes
Vicksburg High coach Josh Harper is making “big changes” after the Missy Gators’ ninth straight loss, a 15-10 setback to Natchez on Thursday.
The Missy Gators (14-12) were up 6-2 at one point, but had two “game-losing errors” in the last inning, Harper said. Krystal Lofton doubled, Kassidy Dollar tripled and seventh-grade first baseman/designated hitter Lauren Johnson was “outstanding,” going 7-for-7 in the varsity and JV game.
“I’ve been very patient too patient,” Harper said. “If we win in the playoffs, the young girls will take us there.”
St. Al 14, Madison St. Joe 1
Danielle Klaus’ sixth-inning grand slam helped St. Al to a rout of Madison-St. Joe. Candice Park added two singles and four RBIs. Stephanie Evans earned the win by limiting St. Joe to one hit.
