Alcorn seeking 1st win at USM

Alcorn State is still searching for its first win as it faces a third straight Division I-A team on the road Tuesday night. The defending SWAC champion Braves (0-3) will be in Hattiesburg to face Southern Mississippi (2-0), which is fresh off an upset of No. 15 Arkansas.
Walter Harper, a 6-foot-8 center, leads Alcorn with 15 points and 8.5 rebounds per game and Tori Harris is chipping in 12.5 points. The Braves have lost to No. 21 Oklahoma and UNC-Wilmington.
David Wall, a 6-5 forward, averages 15 points and guard Brad Richardson is contributing 17 per outing for USM, which is playing its home-opener.
