James Harris of the Ameristar Buccaneers has his top pair of pants pulled down by Isle of Capri’s Don Lewis, who is trying to grab Harris’ flag in the second Vicksburg Warren Flag Football Association “Super Bowl.” Andre Carter got an interception late in the fourth quarter, then caught a 5-yard touchdown from James Robinson with two seconds left to give IOC an 18-12 win. In the first half, Robinson threw a 19-yard touchdown to Carter Romes, then ran 24 yards for another TD. But the Bucs (8-4) came back on a pair of Harris TD passes 5 yards to Troy Thomas and 20 yards to John Holmes to tie it, 12-12. Carter was selected MVP of the game as the Gators finished the season at 12-0. In the opener, Warren County Green beat Warren County Red, 8-6, in overtime when Reginald Wheatley connected with D’Eldrick Taylor from 5 yards out, then J.J. Brown passed to Vance Gray for the two-point conversion. James Judge hit Jonathan Gardner for the Red first, but the two-point try failed. The league will wrap up Sunday at Vicksburg Junior High with the “Pro Bowl.” At noon, the AFC will play the NFC, followed by the NFC vs. the New Orleans All-Stars at 1 p.m. At 2 p.m., the AFC meets the Jackson All-Stars and New Orleans and Jackson square off at 2 p.m. (The Vicksburg Post/MELANIE DUNCAN)
