ROBERT E. DOYLE

Robert E. Doyle died Thursday Dec. 19, 2000, at his home. He was 57.

Mr. Doyle was a former member of Rock of Ages M.B. Church and was employed with Cooper Lighting as a feeder operator. He graduated from Rosa A. Temple High School in 1963. He later attended Interior Design School in Raywood, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Doyle Sr. and Lubertha Martin Doyle; four brothers, Willie Doyle Jr., Charles Doyle, Ivory Doyle and Mack Henry Doyle; and a niece, Helen Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Doyle of Vicksburg; a son, Ronald Franco Doyle of Vicksburg; two daughters, Dionne Robin Doyle and Tracy Doyle, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Bobby G. Doyle of Vicksburg; four sisters, Ruby Doyle, Arazentta Doyle and Verna Doyle, all of Vicksburg, and Effie Claxton of Huntsville, Ala.; three granddaughters and other relatives.

Williams Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

HARRY L. POWELL JR.

Harry L. Powell Jr. died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 54.

Mr. Powell was a barber and taxi driver for J&B Cab Co. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the Army in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry L. Powell Sr. and Mabel Lowell Powell; and a brother, Lawrence L. Powell.

Survivors include his son, Jonathan Wince of the U.S. Army; a brother, Arthur L. Powell of Vicksburg; a sister, Earlean J. Murphy of Vicksburg; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives, including Julia M. Regan of Vicksburg and members of the Pampley, Sims, Christian, Regan and Powell families.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Horace McKay officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

JOSEPH WATSON

DETROIT Joseph “Joe” Watson died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in Detroit. He was 65.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Watson had spent most of his life in Detroit. He was retired from Ford Motor Company.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Sparks Watson of Detroit; a daughter, Josielynn Watson of Detroit; a son, Damon Watson of Detroit; a stepson, Bennie Taylor of Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, Nathan Watson Jr. of Vicksburg; a sister, De’Lesselyn Watson Broome of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

Stinson Funeral Home in Detroit has charge of the arrangements.
