Thomas picks up more honors

[03/08/01] Mississippi State sophomore LaToya Thomas has been selected a first-team all-American by The Women’s Basketball Journal. The Greenville native also earned a spot on The Associated Press all-Southeastern Conference first team for the second straight year.
Vanderbilts’s Chantelle Anderson was the only other sophomore picked for the SEC first team. Florida’s Carol Ross, a former Ole Miss star, was coach of the year and Georgia’s Kelly Miller was player of the year. Georgia’s Christi Thomas was freshman of the year.
MSU is expecting an invitation to the WNIT on Sunday.
