Vicksburg Fire Department medical personnel work to remove Earl G. Level, 80, 518 Dallas St., from his Ford F-150 pickup after it crashed into the south side of the former train depot on Levee Street at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Level, who was northbound and failed to negotiate the curve in front of the building, was in critical condition Wednesday morning at University Medical Center in Jackson after being transferred from ParkView Regional Medical Center, a UMC spokesman said. Vicksburg Police Patrolman Greg Kurtz said the cause of the accident had not been determined. (The Vicksburg Post/MELANIE DUNCAN)
