Dogs attack pedestrian

Jermaine Linson, 22, carries one of his brother’s pit bulls from his home at 1709 Main St. at about 5 p.m. Saturday after the dog and two others left the yard and bit a pedestrian, Mary Turner, 47, 909 Third North St. Turner was treated and released from ParkView Regional Medical Center. Linson was cited for violating the city’s leash law, a misdemeanor, said Sgt. Tom Wilson, a 10-year veteran with the Vicksburg Police Department, who also said dog attacks are a “very rare occasion.” The dogs were taken to the City Pound. (The Vicksburg Post/MELANIE DUNCAN)
