FRANK CREEVY FOX JR.
PORT GIBSON Frank Creevy Fox Jr. died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Claiborne County Hospital. He was 68.
A Claiborne County native, Mr. Fox moved to New Roads, La., at an early age. He graduated from Louisiana State University and retired in 1978 after 22 years as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force.
He returned to Claiborne County to farm, serving on the board of directors for both Hinds Community College and Southwest Electric Power Association. He coached for the Claiborne Educational Foundation Pee Wee League basketball and for the Claiborne County Little League baseball. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine C. Fox of Port Gibson; one son, John Russell Fox of Mandeville, La.; one daughter, Francine Johnson of Port Gibson; and two grandsons, Christopher Johnson and Sean Johnson of Port Gibson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 until the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be David Doyle, Jimmy Cassell Jr., Robert Gage, Perc McCaa, Hank Drake, Charlie Donald, John Selden and Bob Waddle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Porter, Joe Carpenter, Jea Abraham, Jim Fischer, Dr. David Headley, Mott Headley Sr., Mott Headley Jr., Randy Deaton, Louie Doyle, Steven Doyle, John Saldzar and all members of the CEF Panthers basketball team.
DORIS KNIGHT
UTICA Doris Knight died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at her home in Utica. She was 79.
Mrs. Knight was a native of Ellison Ridge, Miss., and was a member of Utica Baptist Church. She retired from South Central Bell Telephone Co. after 43 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Knight of Utica; one son, Perry Knight of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Charles Talbert of Bogalusa, La., and Billy Talbert of North Carolina; and one sister, Bobbie Jean Triplett of Louisville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Utica Baptist Church with the Rev. John Ed Snell officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.
