Well, hello, Santa

Published 12:00 am Thursday, December 6, 2001

Santa greets Jackson Oaks, 3, while the rest of his classmates from First Presbyterian Preschool and Kindergarten look on after singing Christmas carols Wednesday at the Crawford Street branch of AmSouth bank. The event promoting the 2001 Salvation Army Angel Wish Tree program was sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg. Through the Angel Wish Tree program, Vicksburg residents can choose a needy child’s name from a Christmas tree and buy gifts for the child. John Showers of the Salvation Army said this year’s Angel Wish Trees are at the Vicksburg District Corps of Engineers on East Clay Street, First Presbyterian Church on Cherry Street, Tyson Foods, River 101, Serenity Florist, Pemberton Square mall and the Mississippi River Commission.(The Vicksburg Post/C.
