EUNICE RENEE PEVEY BRUCE

Eunice Rene Pevey Bruce died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 41.

A native of Little Rock, Ark., Miss Bruce had lived in Vicksburg for more than 15 years. She has worked for Wal-Mart for a year as a sales clerk. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church in Rosedale, La.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bea Burton.

She is survived by her parents, Ronald and Sharon Pevey of Rison, Ark.; her adopted parents, Wayne and Sharon Blackledge of Vicksburg; four brothers, Ronald Pevey Jr. of Chalmette, La., James Allen Pevey, Todd Pevey and Kennith Stiltner, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Cindy Sinks of Vicksburg and Michelle Williams of Pine Bluff, Ark.; her grandfathers, Louis Pevey and Jack C. Bates, both of Star City, Ark.; and her adopted grandmothers, Evron Burton and Ethel Blackledge, both of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yazoo County.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Phillip White, Cameron Williams, Derek Pennington, James White Jr., Robert S. Alford Jr. and Jason Barnhart.

ALBERT JOHNSON

Albert Johnson died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 85.

Mr. Johnson was born in Mississippi. He had worked for Anderson-Tully Company as a machine operator for several years. He was a member of Greater Mount Lebanon M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Johnson and Mary Johnson; two sons; a sister; and three brothers, including his twin.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Johnson of Vicksburg; four sons, Charles Brown Jr. and Eugene Brown, both of Vicksburg, Gerald Brown of Suisan City, Calif., and Michael Brown of Stafford, Va.; his daughter, Earlean Johnson of Jackson; three sisters, Hattie Q. Stokes, Mary Knight and Virgie Clay, all of Detroit; three brothers, Lee Johnson of Seattle, Wash., Elliott Johnson of Detroit and Cornelius Johnson of Memphis; four grandchildren; and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

KATHRYN LOUISE REED

Kathryn Louise “Muddie” Reed died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Hospice Ministries in Jackson. She was 78.

Mrs. Reed was a native of Utica.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry “Pop” Reed; a daughter, Daina Reed Lewis; and a grandson, Thomas “Yancey” Reed.

Survivors include three sons, Tommy Reed of Carpenter, Jerry Reed of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Danny Reed of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; three brothers, Bud Stubbs of Denham Springs, La., Don Stubbs of Virginia and Glen Stubbs of California; three sisters, Becky Snap and Frances Holmes, both of Baton Rouge, and Pearl Ellis of Denham Springs; and 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica with the Rev. John Ed Snell officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Reed, Michael Reed, Larry Holmes, Danny Reed Jr., Dewayne Lewis and Jimmy Holmes.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries of Jackson.

CHIQUITA L. REYNOLDS

FAYETTE Chiquita L. Reynolds died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was 19.

Miss Reynolds was a nursing student at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Natchez. She was a member of Beckette Chapel A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Norvell Reynolds Sr.; and three uncles, Walter Daniel Reynolds, Eddie Bradley and Robert Bradley.

Survivors include her son, Rah’Kendrick Reynolds of Fayette; her mother, Mary Reynolds of Fayette; her father, Henry Reynolds of Fayette; her maternal grandparents, Lula Trevillion Kaho of Fayette and Edward Riley of Memphis; her paternal grandmother, Rosie Reynolds of Fayette; four brothers, Gutierrez Reynolds, Henry Reynolds Jr., Jalen Reynolds and Joshua Reynolds, all of Fayette.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson County High School auditorium in Fayette with the Rev. Weakly Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Beckette Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Hall, Michael January, Mel Thomas, Ronnie Trevillion, Jeffery Devine and Vincent Turner.

JAMES M. SHEPARD

James M. Shepard died today, Feb. 15, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 81.

Mr. Shepard had been employed with the post office. He was an Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Shepard and Annie Carter Shepard.

He is survived by his sister, Claudine Marley of Southfield, Mich.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

MILLER WHITE

TAYLORSVILLE Miller White, infant son of Shannon Claude White and Tammy Miller White, both of Taylorsville, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

In addition to his parents, Miller is survived by a sister, Presley Morgan White; his paternal grandparents, Bonnie and David White, of Vicksburg; his maternal grandmother, Gloria Miller of Meridian; and his great-grandmothers, Neadra Lockwood and Eleze Walker, both of Collinsville.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Collinsville Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Farris officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Stephens Funeral Home.
