GWENDOLYN L. MILTON
Services for Gwendolyn L. “Gwen” Milton will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Mount Zion M.B. Church with the Rev. E.E. Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Milton died Monday, May 13, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 33.
Mrs. Milton was born in Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roosevelt Brown; three sisters, Addie Rockhill, Rosemary Rockhill and Lucille Rockhill; her maternal grandparents, Louis and Willie Mae Mitchell; and her paternal grandparents, Sylvester and Lucille Rockhill.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Milton of Vicksburg; her father, Robert Rockhill of Vicksburg; her mother, Minnie Brown Rockhill of Vicksburg; two sisters, Barbara Williams Ross and Sharon “Shell” Williams, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
MICHAEL DEWAYNE WALKER
Services for Michael Dewayne Walker will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. P.L. Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.
Mr. Walker died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He was 26.
Mr. Walker lived most of his life in New Orleans and has lived in Vicksburg for the last five years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by two uncles, Freddie Walker and Clarence Walker Jr.; and two cousins, Willie Walker Jr. and Kendrick Hooker.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Walker of Vicksburg; his father, James Washington of Vicksburg; his brother, James Earl Walker of Vicksburg; his sister, Mannisha Washington of Vicksburg; his maternal grandparents, Nancy Walker and Clarence Walker Sr. of Vicksburg; his paternal grandparents, Katie Mae Robinson and Andrew Robinson of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Willie Walker Sr., Billie Walker, Carl Walker, Wayne Walker, David Walker, Flora Hooker, Barbara Walker, Melissa Neal, Frankie Neal and Clara Walker, all of Vicksburg, and Bernadine Burden and Pamela Walker, both of Chicago.
LILA ELIANA HUSBAND WELCH
Services for Lila Eliana Husband Welch will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Welch died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at her home. She was 23.
Mrs. Welch was of the Baptist faith and was employed with Battlefield Inn in the housekeeping department.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rolonda Raquel Welch, and her father, Zack Dotson.
She is survived by her husband, Roland Welch of Vicksburg; her mother, Geneva Husband of Vicksburg; two sons, Wesley Dewayne Husband and Roland Derell Welch Jr., both of Vicksburg; a daughter, Keemya Welch of Vicksburg; two sisters, Mary Wyatt and Erma Jean Dotson, both of Vicksburg; her stepfather, Saul Fultz of Vicksburg; and her maternal grandmother, Easter Reed of Tallulah.
ELISHA WILLIAMS
Elisha Williams died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 95.
Mr. Williams was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will Williams and Sarah Carter McGee; a brother, Jessie Williams; and three sisters, Luella Williams, Pearlie Wilson and Alice Berry.
Survivors include a son, Charles Williams of New Orleans; and a daughter, Lucy Straughter of Detroit.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
