EVERETT DODSON
UTICA Everett Dodson died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at his home in Utica. He was 70.
Mr. Dodson had lived in Hinds County most of his life. He retired as a heavy-equipment operator from Cox Construction. He was a member of Utica United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Dodson of Utica; one daughter, Cindy Zandieh of Duarte, Calif.; three sons, David Dodson of Milwaukee, Wis., and Dale Dodson and Joel Dodson, both of Byram; one brother, William A. Dodson of Utica; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church in Utica with the Revs. Marshall Killcrease and Jimmy Elam officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.
Pallbearers will be Dun Scipper, Harvey Skelton, R.E. Mobley, Larry Dodson, Lamar Cook and David Dodson.
ALMA RUTH BLAND DUNKERSON
EDWARDS Alma Ruth Bland Dunkerson died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Middle Georgia Hospital. She was 62.
Mrs. Dunkerson, a schoolteacher, was a former Edwards resident.
Lakeover Funeral Home of Jackson has charge of arrangements.
JAMES EDWARD GIBSON
DELHI James Edward Gibson died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was 85.
Mr. Gibson was a lifelong resident of Delhi. He was a member and deacon at Newton Baptist Church and retired from Delhi Manufacturing Co. in 1979.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Britt Donald Gibson and Jessie Gibson; a sister, Bessie Copes; and his parents, W.L. and Maggie Williams Gibson.
Survivors include his wife, Nobie Blackmon Gibson; two sons, Jimmy Gibson of Delhi and Billy Gibson of Epps, La.; three daughters, Jo Ellen Goings of Tallulah, Joyce Isaac of Farmerville, La., and Carolyn Colwell of Thibodaux, La.; two sisters, Gordie Taylor and Doris Thompson, both of Delhi; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Revs. Terry Ganey and James Busby officiating. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Goings, Billy Goings, Avery Isaac, Michael Colwell, Barry Isaac and Nick Gibson.
MARTHA HELEN TRELOAR HARBOUR
LAKE PROVIDENCE Martha Helen Treloar Harbour died Monday, May 27, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. She was 75.
Born in Water Valley, Miss., Mrs. Harbour was the daughter of the late Rufus and Clare Carr Treloar.
She is survived by her husband, William B. Harbour Sr. of Lake Providence; a son, William B. Harbour Jr. of Port Barre, La.; a daughter, Cissy Harbour of Jennings, La.; one sister, Sammye McKee of Coffeeville, Miss.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Providence with the Rev. Lauren Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until the service at Cox Funeral Home in Lake Providence.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Shepherd, Mike Wilson, Mike McKee, Gerald Stanley, Harry Shields and Ricky Wilson.
LUCILLE T. THORNELL
Lucille T. Thornell died Monday, May 27, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.
Born in Alexandria, La., Mrs. Thornell had lived in Vicksburg since 1939. She was employed with Fred’s Dollar Store and Mississippi Hardware Company for a number of years. She was also a school bus driver for Warren Central High School. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Thornell.
She is survived by two sons, Allen Thornell of Clayton, Ala., and Glenn Thornell of Vicksburg; two daughters, Linda Carter and Kristin Thornell, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Roy Tyler of Alexandria and Jud Tyler of Winnsboro, La.; his sister, Estelle Jones of Monroe, La.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwight Sibley and L.C. Loyd officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Cummings, Clifton Thornell Jr., Joey Griffith, Steven Griffith, Keith Staggs and Ricky Shingler.
NELL H. WILLIAMS
Nell H. Williams died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 88.
Mrs. Williams was a native of Vernon, Ala. She was a former Clinton resident and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Laurance and Mae Atkins Holcombe; her husband, John Robert Williams; a son, Bill Williams; and one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Gail T. Williams of Vicksburg, and a grandson, J.R. Williams of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus with the Rev. Ted Diordano officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lee Beauman, Brent Greer, Richie McComas, Jimmy Hoffmann, Randy Thorn and Riley Hoffman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Campbell Jr., Bill Collins, Glen Coutch and nephews.
