BERNICE HINES CURRIE
UTICA Bernice Hines Currie died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Willow Creek Rest Center in Byram. She was 80.
Mrs. Currie was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Utica where she was a member of the Utica Christian Church. For a short time, she was employed by the Keith Press of Raymond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold L. Currie; her parents, Minor and Carrie Ritchey Hines; and a sister, Floris Hines.
She is survived by her son, Lamar Currie of Utica; two brothers, Minor Hines of Gretna, La., and Johnny Hines of Monroe, La.; a sister, Cornellia Bullock of Clinton; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Utica Christian Church. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lee Herren, Bob L. Currie, Randy Bullock, Sam Clayton, Ray Bullock and Roger Jones.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Southern Care of Clinton, 509 Springridge Road, Clinton, MS, 39056.
CLIFF EDWARDS JR.
Cliff Edwards Jr., died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. He was 65.
Mr. Edwards was an automobile sales manager in Southaven and a veteran of the Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Edwards; three daughters, Cindy Peplaw of St. Louis and Cathy Thompson and Lisa Crump, both of West Memphis, Ark.; three sons, Tony Keith Edwards of West Memphis, David Carl Edwards of Atlanta and Trey Giuntini of Atoka, Tenn.; two sisters, Betty Dennis of West Plains, Mo., and Barbara McCloud of Vicksburg; three bothers, Joseph Edwards and Morris Edwards, both of Edwards, and Ricky Edwards of Vicksburg, and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in West Memphis. Burial will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
SHERRIE MAE McPHERSON
Sherrie Mae McPherson died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, in Nashville. She was 45.
Ms. McPherson was a former resident of Vicksburg and has lived in Nashville for the last several years. She was a nursing assistant for various nursing homes and was a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene in Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Estelle Whittington.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Peggy and Kenneth Dickinson of Vicksburg; her father, Warener McPherson of Nashville, and two children, Jesse Taylor of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Nicole McPherson of Nashville.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitchell Hedgepeth, pastor of Hawkins Street United Methodist Church, officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
