Annie Mae Davis
Services for Annie Mae Davis will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 81.
A resident of Vicksburg, she was a homemaker and a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hine Caples and Roberta Lynn.
Survivors include her husband, R.L. Davis of Vicksburg; a son, Tony Cross of Vicksburg; two daughters, Betty Floyd of Marlow Heights, Md., and Earnestine Knight of Vicksburg; a brother, the Rev. John Caples of Nashville; two sisters, Herman Mae Caples and M.L. Caples, both of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
John L. Harris
John L. “Lil Bro” Harris died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 47.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Harris was a laborer. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Murphey and Carrie Harris; and his maternal grandparents, Marcus Harris and Rosie Ford Harris.
Survivors include Cassandra Whittenburg of Vicksburg; two sons, Carlton Phillips and LaKindrick Phillips, both of Vicksburg; a daughter, Angela Phillips of Vicksburg; a brother, Willie Murphey of Vicksburg; a sister, Carrie Harris Bolls of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and others including, Annette Phillips of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
