Tommie Joseph Anderson
RED LICK Tommie Joseph Anderson died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 64.
A resident of Red Lick, Mr. Anderson retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad after 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Gibson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Irene Anderson; and his father, Grady Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Nevels Anderson of Red Lick; a son, Phillip Joseph Anderson of Greenwood; two daughters, Monica Anderson of Natchez and Tanya Thorpe of Red Lick; his mother, Bessie Mae Anderson of Port Gibson; two brothers, James Edward Anderson of Austinburg, Ohio, and Wayne Anderson of Port Gibson; three sisters, Gloria Faye Green of Red Lick, Jewel Scarber of Vicksburg and Brenda Young of Port Gibson; 13 grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 until 8 tonight, with rosary at 7.
Pallbearers will be Darol Thorpe III, Michael Thorpe, Timothy Thorpe, James Thorpe, Christopher Stephens, David Anderson, Joseph Anderson and Brandon Anderson.
Frank Brown
Frank Brown died today, Feb. 26, 2003, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 99.
Mr. Brown was a member of St. John M.B. Church and the St. John Burial Association. He was a farmer and retired from the City of Vicksburg Gas Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Frances Brown; two brothers, Jim Brown and Hosey Brown; and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Bertha Elliott of San Jose, Calif., nieces and nephews; and friends including, Lillian W. Brown and Lou Ella Brown, both of Vicksburg.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.
Ruby Vail
OAK GROVE Ruby Vail died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove. She was 90.
Mrs. Vail was a homemaker.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Cox Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. William Moden officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
