Arnold Brent Cosby
Services for Arnold Brent Cosby will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. D.L. Redding officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cosby died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 44.
He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Cosby.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Cosby; a son, Christopher Cosby; a daughter Brittany Cosby; his parents, Aaron Cosby and Ernestine Miller Cosby of Vicksburg; four brothers, Aaron Cosby Jr. of Edwards and Milton Cosby, Benny Cosby and Hyman Cosby, all of Vicksburg; four sisters, Annie Smith and Margaret J. Passon, both of Vicksburg, Selena C. Reed of Belzoni and Margie J. Camda of New Orleans; an aunt, Hazel Edwards of LaPlante, Calif., and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leonard Lee Harper
OAK GROVE Leonard Lee Harper died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. He was 86.
Born in D’Lo, Miss., Mr. Harper was a resident of Oak Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Forest Harper and Mary Francis Harper; a brother, Bradford Harper; and two sisters, Tiny Russell and Louise Moses.
Survivors include his wife, Erna Harper of Oak Grove; a son, Thomas Wayne Harper of Norco, La.; five brothers, Leo Harper of Kilbourne, La., Curtis Harper of Chickasaw, La., Burnett Harper of Goodwill, La., Emmett Harper of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Johnny Harper of Atlanta, Ga.; six sisters, Elee Finch of Ohio, Alene Ward of Mary Ester, Fla., Faye Nell Barnes and Irene Bedenbender, both of Oak Grove, Myrtis Passons of Natchez, Mildred MacDaniel of Panama City, Fla.; a grandson, Timothy Wayne Harper of Baton Rouge; and other relatives.
Services were at 9 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Leslie Yates and Dennis Bolton officiating. Burial followed at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, La.
Pallbearers were J.L. Hill, Ronald Bedenbender, Anthony Harper, Roger Maxwell, Paul Harper and Larry Harper.
Luevada M. Jennings
ROLLING FORK Luevada M. Jennings died Monday, April 28, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.
A native of Attala County, Mrs. Jennings had lived in Rolling Fork since 1952. She retired from the Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital as a nurse’s aide and was a former employee of the Delta Care Clinic.
Survivors include her husband, Audley A. Jennings of Rolling Fork; four daughters, Mavis Helen Woods of Louisville, Miss., Mamie Sue Woods of Brandon, Margie Faye Scott of Rolling Fork and Betty Jo Mitchell of Rainbow City, Ala.; a sister, Etta V. Steed of Pearl; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Doty Springs Cemetery in Doty Springs, Miss.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Andy Woods, Jerry Woods, Ricky Woods, Randy Scott, Tommy Scott and John Michael Hardwick.
Minnie Beall Jennings
ALEXANDRIA, La. Minnie Beall Jennings, formerly of Tallulah, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La. She was 92.
A resident of Alexandria for the past nine years, Ms. Jennings was a homemaker and lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Tallulah.
Survivors include a son, John Jennings of West Monroe, La.; a granddaughter, Linda Monsour of Vicksburg; a sister, Elizabeth Teekell of Bossier City, La.; and a brother, Joe Carr of Alexandria.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
