[6/2/03]Warren County AAU advanced to the championship game of the Southern AAU 18-and-under State Championship on Sunday, but lost to the Mississippi Lady North Stars 92-70 and finished second.

Cookie Johnson led Warren County with 22 points in the championship game, while Ebon Williams had 16 and Carla Latham had 11. Van Mitchell had 28 points for the North Stars, and hit three straight 3-pointers with about 6 minutes remaining to blow the game open.

Against the Whitworth Phillies, Saleda Montgomery had 20 points and Ebon Williams had 18 as Warren County won 80-69. Warren County pulled away in the second half after the game was tied 36-36 at halftime.
