Donovan Ray Grey
Donovan Ray Grey died Friday, June 20, 2003, at E.A. Conway Medical Center in Monroe, La. He was 59.
Mr. Grey was born in Holly Brook, La., and lived in Lake Providence.
He was preceded in death his parents, Johnnie Robert and Jessie Vay Grey, and two brother, Johnnie Robert Grey Jr., and Roger Grey.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Grey; two daughters, Ladonna Wilson of St. Amant, La., and Cynthia Harrison of Tallulah; a son, Donovan Ray Grey Jr., of Tallulah; two brothers, Ronnie Grey of Cleveland, Ohio, and Steve Grey of St. Louis, Mo.; five sisters, Martha Ann Thompson of Ferriday, La., Judy Whitaker of Lake Providence, Charlon Monceauz of Oberlin, La., and Glenda Vincent and Sandra Kay Mills, both of Lafayette, La., and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cox Funeral Home in Lake Providence with the Rev. Thomas Wayne Cherry officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 9 p.m. and Monday until the service at the funeral home.
Doris R. Turner
Doris R. Turner died Friday, June 20, 2003 at Belmont Place in Vicksburg. She was 84.
Mrs. Turner was born in Meridian, and has been a resident Vicksburg since 1958. She was a retired safety clerk for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterway Experiment Station.
She was active in the Vicksburg Genealogy Society and in square dance clubs. She was also a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Turner, and a son, Charles Edward Turner.
She is survived by a brother, Jack E. Rutledge of Monroe, La., and three sisters, Julia C. Turner of Pensacola, Fla., Betty T. Choat of Bay St. Louis, and Cathy Blanton of Stone Mountain, Ga.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mispah Cemetery in Durant, with the Rev. John Allen and the Rev. Scott Reiber officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Pallbearers will be Trey Smith, Colin McAneny, Bill Abney, Clyde Donnell and Royce Eaves.
Honorary pallbearers will be the officers of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the staff of Belmont Place.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Patients Choice Hospice of Vicksburg.
