Services for Te Cherry Barnes Anderson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson died Monday, July 7, 2003, at her home. She was 79.

She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosie King Barnes and Ray Barnes; five sisters, Delsie Magee, Amanda Posey, Annie Mae West, Venella Barnes and Fairilla Barnes; and three brothers, Nathaniel Barnes Sr., Roosevelt Barnes and Claude Barnes.

Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Anderson of Vicksburg; a daughter, Rose Mae Washington of Vicksburg; one sister, Shirley Davenport of Florida; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Fredia Young, Joyce Maddox and LuBertha Barnes, all of Vicksburg.

Dorothy Harville Beach

HAZLEHURST Dorothy Harville Beach died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Kings Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven. She was 73.

A native of Leesville, La., Mrs. Beach was a resident of Hazlehurst. She lived in Vicksburg while attending Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst and a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Beach Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Beach and Revis Beach; a daughter, Valerie Cline; a sister, Adele Hayes; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst has charge of arrangements.

Sabrina Davis

Services for Sabrina Davis will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.

Miss Davis, formerly of Vicksburg, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Houston, Texas. She was 25.

She attended Community of Faith Baptist Church in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Vickers of Albuquerque, N.M.; five brothers, Michael Davis and Fernando Valentine, both of Houston, Carlton Davis of Miami, DeAndrea Valentine of California and Terrance Davis of Vicksburg; five sisters, Monica Valentine of California and LaShanda Smith, Dewyona Butler, Bridgette King and Helen Judge, all of Vicksburg; her maternal grandparents, Sherman and Hattie Jackson of Richmond, Calif.; and aunts, uncles and other relatives, including Paul Garrett and members of the Washington and Burns families of Vicksburg.

George C. Markle

George C. Markle died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in Jackson. He was 80.

Born in West Newton, Pa., Mr. Markle lived in Yuma, Ariz., before moving to Vicksburg in 1978. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II, and a member of the Boaz Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Markle of Vicksburg; a son, Dennis G. Markle of Vicksburg; a brother, Harold Markle of Levittown, Pa.; two sisters, Edith Thrasher of Los Angeles and Evaline Danter of West Newton, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Russ Markle, Dustin Markle, Bill Clark, Randy Oswalt, Bob Carver and Jerry Delligatti.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maggie Bucholtz and Elizabeth Blum.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building or Organ Fund.

Joseph Samuel Price

Joseph Samuel Price died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at his home. He was 89.

Mr. Price was retired from Perrier-Eastman. He was a member and deacon at Mount Alban Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lizzie Robb Price; four brothers, John Henry Price, William Price, Alexander Price and Sedgewick Price; and three sisters, Gertrude Robb Washington, Julia Sanders and Mary Alice Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Price of Vicksburg; one daughter, Janice Price Winters of Vicksburg; two brothers, Edgar Price of Vicksburg and Walter Price of Chicago; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Benny W. Scott

Benny W. Scott died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 75.

A native of Pensacola, Fla., Mr. Scott lived most of his life in Vicksburg. He was the son of the late Sam P. and Charlie P. Wright Scott. He was a graduate of Jett High School and a member of the Baptist faith. He retired from Grand Gulf after 40 years of service as a truck driver.

Survivors include a son, Tony Scott of Vicksburg; two daughters, Deborah Hugley of Vicksburg and Lydia Angulo of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Sam Scott of Waycross, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Ivey, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be L.E. Gibson, Rodgers Coffing, R.C. Quarles, Leo Steen, R.L. Brister and Joe Watson.

Honorary pallbearers will be O.W. Mendrop, James Hugley, Jack Gillis, Bobby Turnage and Robert Wright.
