Dwaine Lavern Jackson

Dwaine Lavern Jackson died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in Jacksonville, Fla. He was 29.

A self-employed construction worker, Mr. Jackson was a member of Greater Mount Zion M.B. Church. He was a veteran of the Army.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Donerson Sr.

Survivors include his parents, Marsha Jackson Jenkins and Larry Donerson Sr., both of Vicksburg; his stepfather, L.C. Jenkins of Vicksburg; two sons, Dwaine Jackson Jr. and Ja’Corey Jackson, both of Jacksonville; three daughters, Alexis Green and Kiara Ellis, both of Vicksburg, and LaToya Burks of Atlanta; four brothers, Larry Donerson Jr. and Cordell Jenkins, both of Vicksburg, Eric Andr Jackson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lee Charles Jenkins of Atlanta; five sisters, LaShanda Townsend of Jacksonville and Shanell Jenkins, Benioca Jenkins, Cristy Donerson and Deanna Donerson, all of Vicksburg; his paternal grandmother, Thelma Donerson of Vicksburg; his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Willie Mae Grissom and Willie Joe and Rosie Hunt, all of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Grace Nunnery Knight

NATCHEZ Grace Nunnery Knight died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center. She was 69.

Mrs. Knight was born in Liberty, Miss., to Rhesa and Grace Jackson Nunnery. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Jeff Knight of Wesson; two daughters, Janet K. Gay and Cathy K. Roboski, both of Natchez; one sister, Louise Nunnery of Natchez; one brother, Alton Nunnery of Natchez; seven grandchildren; and nephews.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez with the Rev. Bart Walker officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Mike Roboski, Tim Gay, Robert Nunnery, Michael Nunnery, John Knight, Michael Roboski Jr., Brady Knight and John T. Gay.

Honorary pallbearers were Dallas Brown, Brian Picou and members of the Mary-Martha Sunday school class at Parkway Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.

Annie McConnell

CARY Annie McConnell died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 81.

Mrs. McConnell was born in Mound Bayou and later moved to Cary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Namon McConnell; her parents, Nathan and Daisy Brown; three sister, Mary Brown, Mattie Lindsey and Minnie Jones; three brothers, Fred Brown, Eddie Brown and Robert Brown; and two nephews.

Survivors include three sisters, Rosie Ella Brown of Cary, Eunice Miller of Vicksburg and Daisy Warren of New Orleans; two brothers, Nora Brown of Cary and David Brown of Los Angeles; and other relatives, including Rosie Smith of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. Church in Cary. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery under the direction of Watson, Edwards & Evans Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Friday at Mount Herald M.B. Church in Rolling Fork.

Irene Minsky

Irene Minsky died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Heritage House Nursing Center. She was 89.

A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Miss Minsky had been a Tallulah resident most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Howard and Bessie Bloom Minsky. She was a member of the Anshe Chesed congregation and Temple Sisterhood.

Miss Minsky was preceded in death by three sisters, Geraldine M. Rankin, Sylvia Meites and Genevieve Caldwell; and two brothers, Leon Minsky and Jerome Minsky.

She is survived by an adopted son, Dr. Gerald M. Rankin of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Michael Rankin officiating. Burial will follow at the Anshe Chesed Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Marcus, Stan Kline, Ted Levi, Britt Fugler, Rich Wilson, John Palmerton, Mel Cohen and Zach Zachery.
