Barbara Elaine Tate
OAK GROVE Barbara Elaine Tate died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. She was 55.
Mrs. Tate was born in Lake Providence and was a longtime resident of Oak Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Calvin Sr. and Barbara Ann Wilcox, and a brother, Joseph Calvin Wilcox Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Neathery of Delhi; one son, Jason Schultz of Brenham, Texas; two brothers, Glen Wilcox of Lyons, Texas, and Don Wilcox of Pioneer, La.; two sisters, Joan Franklin and Pam Wilcox, both of Pioneer; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church in Lake Providence. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Charles Robert Tate, Billy Ray Tate, Hondo Saldana, Kenny Wilhite, Robert Wilcox and Lester Oswalt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Philip Cash, Charles Wilhite and Albert Matthews.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 3268 Highway 577, Lake Providence, LA 71254.
Monroe Dixon Williams Sr.
Services for Monroe Dixon Williams Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Travelers M.B. Church, 1701 Poplar St. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home and Sunday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
Mr. Williams died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.
Born in Brownsville, Miss., Mr. Williams had lived in Vicksburg for 59 years. He was a former employee of Westinghouse Corp., Illinois Central Railroad, City Oil Co. and the Vicksburg Warren School District.
He was a member of Bright Morning Star M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elmira Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Williams of Vicksburg; five sons, Monroe Williams Jr. of Vicksburg, Johnny L. Williams of Ontario, Calif., Carl E. Williams of Dallas, Don C. Williams of New Orleans and Michael L. Williams of Meridian; seven daughters, Ida M. Williams of Chicago, Dorothy Williams of Greenville, Helen Collins of Bakersfield, Calif., Frankie Brown of Los Angeles, Janice Williams of Jackson, Lori Johnson of Dallas and Feli K. Bugg of Houston, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Beverly Ann Wince
Services for Beverly Ann Wince will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Travelers M.B. Church, 1701 Poplar St., with the Rev. Leonard Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.
Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
Mrs. Wince died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at her home. She was 48.
Mrs. Wince was a member of Greater Mount Lebanon Church and worked as a bus driver for the Vicksburg Warren School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Wince and Barbara Marshall Wince.
She is survived by two sons, Curtland Wince and Derrick Wince, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Pamela Wince of Covington, Ga., and Tamara Wince of Vicksburg; her brother, Troy Wince of Vicksburg; her sister, Wellma “Shantae” Wince of Vicksburg; and members of the Marshall, Pilate, Patterson and Wince families of Vicksburg.
