Mary Carson Gilbert

CLEVELAND, Miss. – Mary Carson Gilbert died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital. She was 91.

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Webster County and had been a long-time resident of Holly Bluff, Miss. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gilbert; her parents, Elby and Minnie Pearl Carson; a sister, Bessie Lucas; and a brother, W.H. Carson.

She is survived by two stepsons, John Gilbert and Robert Gilbert, both of Greenwood, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Frances Tyler of Cleveland, Miss., and Mary Elizabeth Jones of Holcomb, Miss.; two brothers, Joe Carson of Holly Bluff, Miss., and Louis Carson of Crystal Springs, Miss., and one sister, Cora Weatherford of Tucker, Ga.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the New Cleveland Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
