Barbara Elizabeth Dickerson

LAKE PROVIDENCE – Barbara Elizabeth Dickerson died Monday, July 18, 2005, at East Carroll Parish Hospital in Lake Providence. She was 92.

Mrs. Dickerson was born in Philadelphia, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Dickerson; her parents, Henry Kensley Kirkland and Mary Jane Russell Kirkland; a brother, Cluster Kirkland; a sister, Ethel Moody; and three grandchildren, David Randall Graham, Charlotte Graham and Randy Graham.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Graham of Tallulah and Gene Graham of Monticello, La.; two daughters, Mary Vickery of Lake Providence and Sandy Tyler of Baskin, La.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Monticello Southern Baptist Church, 5260 Highway 580, in Lake Providence with the Rev. Rocky Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Herringville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 tonight at Cox Funeral Home of Delhi and Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Larry Vickery, Earl K. Fortenberry Jr., Larry Vickery Jr., Jamie Fortenberry, Buddy Tyler and Mike Bradford.

Jamelia Weber David

JACKSON – Jamelia Weber David died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was 95.

Mrs. David was a lifelong resident of Jackson. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson. She and her husband were owners of David’s Grocery. She was employed with the Children’s Shop and McRae’s Department Store in downtown Jackson. She was known as “Jamelia” of Jamelia’s Ice Cream Parlor in Byram.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Waddell David; one son, Sidney David; one brother, Jimmy Weber; three sisters, Josephine David, Emiline Webber and Mamie Nassour ; and a grandchild, Jakie David.

Survivors include one son, Nafe David of Memphis; two daughters, Marie Trebotich and Agnes David, both of Jackson; one brother, George Weber of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s or a favorite charity.

Betty Evelyn Way

Betty Evelyn Way died July 19, 2005, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 73.

She was born in Lorman and lived most of her life in Jackson and Vicksburg. She graduated from Carr Central High School in 1950 and then began her career with Carter, Humble & Exxon Oil companies in Jackson. She was active in the petroleum industries’ professional organization Desk & Derrick Club, where she served as an officer for many years. In Vicksburg, she worked for Mississippi River Commission Corps of Engineers and Verhine Law Firm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard C. and Beulah Barr Way, and a brother, Anthony Barr Way.

She is survived by sisters, Barbara Pace, Dixie Kelly and husband Richard of Vicksburg, Lou Perritt and husband John of Raymond; brothers, Richard Way and Wren C. Way and wife Debbie of Vicksburg; nieces, Pam Thomas and husband Jerry of Kilbourne, La., Renee Duffy and husband Jay of Robertsdale, Ala., Chandra Hays and husband Eric of Flora, Angela Kitchens of Vicksburg, Karen Way of Orange Beach, Fla., and Molly Way of Germantown, Tenn.; nephews, Chuck Kelly of Charleston, S.C., Thomas Kelly and wife Melanie of Franklin, Tenn., Chris Perritt and wife Michelle of Flora, Ricky Way and wife Lisa and Robert Way, all of Booneville, Adam Way and Anthony Way Jr. of Germantown; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. before the services.

Pallbearers will be John Perritt, Richard Kelly, Chris Perritt, Jerry Thomas, R.C. Way and Wren Way.
