Robert L. Hathorn Sr.

Robert L. &#8220Jug” Hathorn Sr. died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at his home. He was 76.

Mr. Hathorn was born and reared in Jackson and had lived in Vicksburg since 1955. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Fraternal Order of Free Masons.

He was a retired insurance agent and a member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church in Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ellen Wall Hathorn.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Elaine Moulder Hathorn of Vicksburg; one son, Robert L. Hathorn Jr. of Crystal River, Fla.; one daughter, Debra L. Hathorn Cooper of Utica; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Ben Burgess, Corey Burgess, Jon Hathorn, Gabe Cooper, Jake Cooper and James E. &#8220Tiny” Carter.

Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Hathorn.

Elizabeth White Johnson

OAK LAWN, Ill. – Elizabeth White Johnson died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill. She was 75.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Vicksburg and a child-care provider.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Johnson; her parents, Richard White Sr. and Katie Caldwell White; four brothers, Robert White, Alphonse White, Richard White Jr. and Simon White; one sister, Isslee White Ferguson; and one son, the Rev. Richard Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by six daughters, Janie Edwards of Richton Park, Ill., Doris Barnes, Gussie Harris, Ira Foster and Isslee Lee, all of Chicago, and Rebecca Kennedy of Anchorage, Alaska; three sons Walker Smith Jr. and Victor Johnson, both of Chicago, and Charles Woodard of California; one sister Rebecca Thomas of Chicago; and one brother, Anderson White Sr. of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Abundant Life M.B. Church, 2306 W. 69th St., Chicago. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at W.W. Jackson Funeral Home, 2701 W. 63rd St., Chicago.
