Ruby Ahner

Ruby Ahner died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at River Region Medical Center. She was 60.

Mrs. Ahner was a native of Roanoke, Va., and had been a Vicksburg resident since 1960. A homemaker, she attended Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Willard Albert Ahner II and John Delane Ahner.

She is survived by three sons, James &#8220Cash” Ahner and David &#8220Bare” Ahner, both of Vicksburg, and Michael Ahner of Cadiz, Spain; three daughters, Lanore Fulgham and Anita Ahner, both of Vicksburg, and Rhonda Swayze of Arcadia, S.C.; three brothers, all of Virginia; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner, pastor of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be George Cousins, Jamie Peevey, Alvin Ashley, Calvin Hearn, Wayne Harris and Bill Haines.

Dr. Erwin John Bieri

LAFAYETTE, La. – Dr. Erwin John Bieri died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, in Lafayette, La. He was 72.

Dr. Bieri was born in Bern, Switzerland, and was a longtime resident of Helena, Ark., where he was a chiropractor and antiques dealer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Freddie Bieri.

Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Allen of Vicksburg, Ardelle Sanders of Lafayette and Todd Bieri; a brother, Richard Bieri of Switzerland; a sister, Yvonne Bieri; and two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Martin & Castille Funeral Home of Lafayette has charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made in care of 102 St. Andrews Drive, Vicksburg, MS 39183.

James William Carr

REDWOOD – James William Carr died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at his home in Redwood. He was 73.

Mr. Carr was born in Hollandale and had lived in Warren County since early childhood. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1950 until 1952. He was retired from the Corps of Engineers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Thelma Vernell Carr.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia N. &#8220Ginger” Carr of Redwood; two daughters, Lisa Carr Martin and Shelly L. Carr, both of Vicksburg; a son, James Gregory Carr of Darien, Ill.; two stepsons, Christopher David Ashley of Raymond and Jason Allen Ashley of Eagle Lake; and seven grandchildren.

Memorials services will be at a later date.
