EDWARDS – Amy Lee Burks died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 58.

Mrs. Burks was a resident of Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Millie Horton Simpson and Willie Simpson.

She is survived by her husband, Alonzo Burks of Edwards; three daughters, Amelia Burks-Hunter, Romunda Willis and Adana Burks, all of Edwards; one brother, John Simpson of Chicago; two sisters, Lois Barnes-Perkins of Edwards and Frankie Turner-Jackson of Chicago; three grandchildren; and other relatives.

Henrene M. Buckner Edison.

CARY – Henrene M. Buckner Edison died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. She was 62.

Mrs. Edison was a resident of Cary.

She is survived by her husband, West Edison of Cary; three sons, Tyrone Edison of Vicksburg, Wayne Edison of Hattiesburg and David Dotson of Lorman; one daughter, Connie Dunigan of Cary; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Diana Dixon and Willie Trisby, both of Cary.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion M.B. Church in Cary with Pastor Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

Rubye Yvonne Hyder Thomas.

PORT GIBSON – Rubye Yvonne Hyder Thomas died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. She was 31.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hyder.

She is survived by her husband, Kelly Thomas Jr. of Port Gibson; two sons, Arthur Washington Jr. and Rakeem Washington, both of Port Gibson; four daughters, Britney Washington, Breonna Banks, Kayla Thomas and Shala Thomas, all of Port Gibson; her mother, Lucille Hyder of Port Gibson; four stepdaughters, Patricia Shorter, Barbara Thomas and Judy McGloster, all of Port Gibson, and Carolyn Edwards of Vicksburg; a stepson, Matthew Thomas of Longview, Texas; five brothers, Michael Hyder of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Eric Hyder, Gerald Hyder, Harold Hyder and Shomari Hyder, all of Port Gibson; four sisters, Janice Hayes of Nashville, Tenn., and Lora Anderson, Connie Watson and Tracey Hyder, all of Port Gibson; and aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.

Floyd J. Touchet.

GUEYDAN, La. – Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Floyd J. Touchet, 83, who died Feb. 9, 2006, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with the Rev. Mitchell Guidry officiating the services. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bryan and Brad Touchet, Jeremy and Ben Theriot, and Joshua, Drew and Phillip Broussard. Selected readings will be read by Laura Theriot, granddaughter.

Mr. Touchet was born June 14, 1922, and was a lifelong resident of Gueydan, La. He was a retired rice farmer and cattle rancher and was still actively involved in raising cattle.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eza Saltzman Touchet of Gueydan; one son, Ken Touchet of Gueydan; three daughters, Susan and her husband Dale Thibodeaux of Gueydan, Brenda Theriot of Vicksburg and Lana Broussard of Gueydan; one sister, Gladys Touchet Adams of Gueydan; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enis and Edmonia Meaux Touchet; an infant sister, Madlyn; and one son, Anthony Touchet.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 311 Fourth St., Gueydan, today from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

Letitia Jones Warren.

Letitia Jones Warren died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at her home. She was 94.

Born in Vicksburg on March 29, 1911, she was the daughter of Hardy Jones and Jimmie Lundie Sherard Jones. She attended Vicksburg Public Schools and Mississippi State College for Women.

Mrs. Warren owned and operated a framing business in Vicksburg for over 40 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Allein Ladies Bible Class.

She was the widow of George F. Warren Sr. Additionally, she was preceded in death by two sisters, May Shepard Puckett and Emily Jones Duke; and three brothers, Franklin H. Jones, William Sherard Jones and Clinton Scott Jones.

Mrs. Warren is survived by two sons, George F. Warren Jr. and wife, Dot, of Greenville, Texas, and Hardy Jones Warren of Vicksburg; a brother, Hardy Jones of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Mark David Warren and wife, Taryn, of Birmingham, Ala., and George F. Warren III and wife, Lisa, and Stephen Scott Warren, all of Dallas; and five great-grandchildren, Bryn Elizabeth Warren, Kara Elaine Warren and Erin Elise Warren, all of Birmingham, and Amanda Grace Warren and George F. Warren IV, both of Dallas.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John G. McCall, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Steve Bryant, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. today until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers were Mark D. Warren, George F. Warren, Stephen Warren, Andy Puckett, Jim Moore and Bill Moore.
