Artimease Montgomery Lee.

HOUSTON, Texas – Artimease Montgomery Lee died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Southwest Memorial Medical Center. She was 88.

A former Vicksburg resident, Mrs. Lee was a member of Mount Zion No. 1 Baptist Church. She was retired from the Old Court House Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee Sr.; a daughter, Florence Lee Morgan; and three siblings.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Robert E. Lee Jr. of Moss Point and Andrew J. Lee of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Daisy D. Lee and Mary B. Lee, both of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Lucille Stigall Wilson Monteno.

SALINAS, Calif. – Lucille Stigall Wilson Monteno died Friday, March 31, 2006. She was 92.

Mrs. Monteno was the daughter of the late Zollie and Minnie Stigall of Rolling Fork.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Wilson; two sisters, Lyda Lucky and Earlene Derrick; and two brothers, Robert Stigall and Russell Stigall.

She is survived by her son, James Wilson of Salinas; a sister, Edna Seales of Rolling Fork; and other relatives, including a cousin, Cody Stigall Fulgham of Delta, La.

Services were scheduled for today in Salinas.

Dottie Zell Smith.

TALLULAH – Services for Dottie Zell Smith were this morning at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating.

Mrs. Smith died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Summet Retirement Center in Alexandria. She was 93.

Born in Pollock, La., Mrs. Smith had lived in Alexandria for seven years. Living most of her life in Madison and Richland Parishes, Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Tallulah.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Kathryn Russell of Alvin, Texas, and Lorraine Simmons of Alexandria; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and other nieces and nephews.

Crothers-Glenwood had charge of the arrangements.

Arnetta Squire.

Arnetta Squire died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 56.

Ms. Squire was a member of the junior choir of Mount Pisgah M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Arnetta Jones Squire; her grandparents, Lucille and Murtis Copeland, and Henry Jones, and Willie and Betty Squire, and Jeraldine Spiller.

Survivors include her father, Albert Squire of Vicksburg; a brother, Albert Squire Jr. of Hyville, Md.; and a stepmother, Clara Mae Harris Squire of Vicksburg.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Charlie Turner.

Services for Charlie Turner will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at King David No. 2 M.B. Church with the Rev. Johnnie Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 76.

Mr. Turner was retired from the Warren County Highway Department and was a member of King David No. 2 M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mandy Turner Smith; and his sister, Eloise Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Johnson Turner of Vicksburg; three daughters, Betty Craig Brown and Jacqueline Smith, both of Vicksburg, and May Smith of Jackson; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives including the Turner, Smith and Hayes families of Fayette and the Currie family of Vicksburg.
