Lottie Mae Grady.
Lottie Mae Grady died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at her home. She was 89.
A homemaker, Mrs. Grady was born in Warren County. She was a member of Grove Street M.B. Church, where she was a former member of the Mother’s Board, Usher Board and Silver Moon No. 41 O.E.S.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Grady Sr.; five brothers, Robert Walker, Adam Walker, Joseph Walker, Julius Walker and Percy Walker; a sister, Katie Walker; and her parents, Major Walker and Laura Ellis Walker.
She is survived by a son, Harry Grady Jr. of Vicksburg; four daughters, Virginia Grady and Irene Brown, both of Vicksburg, Katie Grady of Memphis and Bernadine Cunnigan of Rhode Island; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Clyde Ratcliff Sr.
ST. JOSEPH – Clyde Ratcliff Sr. died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at St. Francis North Hospital in Monroe. He was 93.
Mr. Ratcliff was a farmer and a resident of Tensas Parish for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Juanita Walker; three sons, Clyde Ratcliff Jr. of Hot Springs, Ark., Mitchell Ratcliff of Picayune and James Ratcliff of Vicksburg; one brother, Charles Ratcliff of Canton; and eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be Mike Ratcliff, John Ratcliff, Jimmy Ratcliff, Jason Ratcliff, Benjamin Ratcliff, Chuck Howland, Derek Batey and Derrick Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Howland, Scott Jamingan and Jordan Batey.
Delores Thornton.
PORT GIBSON – Delores Thornton died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Claiborne County Nursing Center. She was 56.
She was preceded in death by her parents, S.T. Thornton Sr. and Marie Parish-Thornton; three brothers, Percy Thornton, S.T. Thornton Jr. and Carl Thornton; and a granddaughter, MacKayla Bell.
Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa Bell of Port Gibson; two sons, Charlie Watson Jr. and Nathaniel Thornton, both of Port Gibson; two sisters, Earnestine Moore and Vernita Pollard, both of Port Gibson; four brothers, David Lee Thornton of Collins, Willie D. Smith, Cornelius Thornton and Louis Thornton, all of Port Gibson; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Thornton Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service at the church.
