Jimmy R. Covington.
ROLLING FORK – Jimmy R. Covington died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. He was 71.
Born in Quitman, Miss., Mr. Covington had been a resident of Rolling Fork since 1965. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was employed as a retired inspector for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Greenville.
An avid fisherman, he was a member of The Deer Creek Masonic Lodge No. 356 and First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Covington.
Survivors include his son, Doug Covington of Rolling Fork; a daughter, Pam Hearn of Vicksburg; a brother, Jerry Covington of Rochester, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Jeff Hearn of Vicksburg and Tyler Covington of Rolling Fork.
Services wll be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork with the Rev. Millard Caulder officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ford, Charles McPhail, Robert Golitz, Thomas Kelly, David Tilghman and Patrick Pickle.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Deer Creek Masonic Lodge No. 356.
Jimmy Dale Emmons.
Jimmy Dale Emmons died Monday, May 29, 2006, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 64.
Born in Arkansas, Mr. Emmons had lived in Vicksburg for the past seven years. He retired from the City of Vicksburg’s Water and Gas Department. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Delaney.
Survivors include his brother, Raymond Emmons of Vicksburg; and six sisters, Opal Tirjillo of Houston, Joyce Emmons of Ridgeland, Barbara Jones of Edwards, Paulette Wilkerson of Raymond, Maryln McGrew of Rolling Fork and Sue Phillips of Pearl.
Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
