A Vicksburg man who said he was a &#8220guardian angel who needed to wash his clothes” was in the Warren County Jail Saturday night, charged with breaking into the house where he attempted to do his laundry, police said.

Tony McElroy, 49, 505 Bowmar Ave., walked through the unlocked door of a home on Ford Road in Kings at about 3:30 Saturday morning and told his plans to the only person inside – a minor asleep on the couch, said Lt. Davey Barnette of the Vicksburg Police Department.

&#8220He went into the kitchen where the washer and dryer were located and started to take his clothes off,” Barnette said.

The minor ran from her home next door.

&#8220The neighbor ran over with a gun, called the police and held him at gunpoint until police arrived,” Barnette said.

McElroy was sitting at the kitchen table eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when Patrolman Chris Blair arrived to arrest and take him into custody.

Bond had not been set for McElroy who was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling.
