Avis Banks.
RIDGELAND – Avis Banks died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at her home in Ridgeland, Miss, as a result of a homicide. She was 27.
Ms. Banks was a 1997 graduate of Warren Central High School and 2001 graduate of Alcorn State University. She was employed with Bright Horizon Daycare in Jackson. She was a member of Locust Grove M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Don and Martha Banks; and maternal grandfather, Melvin “Buddy” Morgan Sr.
She is survived by her parents, Fredrick and Debra Banks of Vicksburg; her fiance, Keyon Pittman of Ridgeland; two sisters, LaTonya Banks of Houston and Fre-Dreana Banks of Vicksburg; maternal grandmother, Alberta Morgan of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including the Brown, Carter, Morgan and Prentiss families.

Harley F. Davidson.
TALLULAH – Services for Harley F. Davidson were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at Cox Funeral Home in Lake Providence, La.
Mr. Davidson died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at East Carroll Parish Hospital in Lake Providence. He was 64.
A retired carpenter, Mr. Davidson was reared in Vicksburg and later moved to Tallulah.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deck and Ozell Davidson; four brothers, Marshall Davidson, Billy Davidson, Jerry Davidson Sr. and Norris Davidson; two sisters, Mamie Sturgis and Betty Davidson.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Davidson of Tallulah; a daughter, Libby Davidson of Tallulah; two sons, Johnny Davidson of Springfield, Mo., and Billy Ray Davidson of Tallulah; two brothers, Lamar Davidson of Branson, Mo., and Darrell Davidson of Ridgecrest, La.; and two sisters, Linda Vance and Barbra Wooten, both of Ridgecrest; four grandchildren; and other nieces and nephews.

ROLLING FORK – Mary Ruth Ducking died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork, Miss. She was 50.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Linda Sweezer officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Ducking of Rolling Fork; a son, Davon Clark of Rolling Fork; and a daughter, Sammarliana Clark of Chicago.
James Ousley Sr.
ROLLING FORK – James Ousley Sr. died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, in Ridgeland, Miss. He was 67.
He is survived by four sons, Kalvin Traylor of Shubuta, Miss., James Ousley Jr. of Egremont, Roger Ousley and James Earl Ousley, both of Rolling Fork; two daughters, Linda Hagger of Indianapolis and Velma Newell of Grace; three brothers, Allen Ousley of Chicago, T.J. Ousley of Rolling Fork and Bishop Thomas Ousley of Louisiana; three sisters, Daisy Ousley and Louella Brock, both of Rolling Fork, and Mary Ousley of Chicago; and 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Mount Ollie M.B. Church in Egremont, Miss., with the Rev. Elijah Eason officiating. Burial will follow at Danover Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Helen Reed.
FAYETTE – Helen Reed died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 72.
Born in Jefferson County, Mrs. Reed was a former cook. She was a member of Hollywood M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Chambliss and Catherine Trimble.
She is survived by a son, L.B. Reed of Jackson; a daughter, Deloris Reed of Fayette; three sisters, Willie Mae Primous of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Exelena Martin of Vicksburg and Bessie Cleveland of Jackson; and other relatives, including Annie Lockett of Vicksburg and Rosie Mae Trimble of Utica.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood M.B. Church in Fayette with the Rev. E.E. Colenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
