This All-State thing is beginning to be a habit for Eric Richards.
The Warren Central kicker and punter, who has committed to Mississippi State, was named to the Mississippi Association of Coaches Class 5A All-State team for the second straight season. Richards was picked as the first-team punter and the second-team kicker after a season in which he controlled most of the Vikings’ games with his powerful right leg.
Richards averaged 45.4 yards on 47 punts this season and had touchbacks on 31 of 44 kickoffs, helping him earn “Best kickoff specialist” honors in All-Region 2-5A. He also made 20 of 22 extra points and 8 of 12 field goals.
