A Brookhaven father of two died Saturday morning after the truck he was driving left Mississippi 27 near Vicksburg and overturned.

Sgt. Jake Coffee of the Mississippi Highway Patrol said Carey A. Martin, 28, 166 Mississippi 84 West, was taken to River Region Medical Center before being airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Martin died of head trauma on the way to UMC, Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said.

Coffee said Martin was headed south on Mississippi 27 in a late-model Dodge Ram 1500 near Gardner Drive at about 7:45 a.m. &#8220when he veered off the right side of the road, overcorrected and overturned.” He was ejected, Coffee said.

No one else was in the truck, and no other vehicles were involved, Coffee said.

Martin was headed home from a job in Fort Worth, Texas, Huskey said. He is survived by his wife, Brandy Martin, and two children.

Riverwood Family Funeral Services in Brookhaven has charge of arrangements.

The accident was the third fatal wreck in Warren County this year. On Jan. 24, Curtis Branch, 30, 33 Beulah Lane, died when the car in which he was a passenger hit a deer on Mississippi 465.

Inside the city limits, Joseph Bryan Moreland, 22, 114 Belva Drive, died Jan. 23 after his car left Belva Drive and crashed into Lake Linda in the Warrenton Heights subdivision.

Thirteen fatal wrecks were recorded in Vicksburg and Warren County in 2006.
