A Tougaloo College student from Vicksburg was killed Friday night in Jackson when a 1997 Saturn in which she was a passenger was hit by another car at the intersection of U.S. 49 and County Line Road, published reports say.
Roslyn Coleman, 18, and the driver, John Michael Patrick of Clinton, were pronounced dead at the scene, reports say.
A 1985 Chrysler Fifth Avenue driven by an identified person was headed north on U.S. 49 when the driver ran a red light and collided with the Saturn, which was headed east on County Line Road, reports say.
Neither a spokesman with the Jackson Police Department nor Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart could be reached Saturday.
The driver of the Chrysler was reportedly taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
