Edward A. McGregor
Edward A. McGregor died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was 84.
Born in Gadsden, Tenn., Mr. McGregor was a former Delta, La., resident and had lived in Vicksburg for the past two years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.
Mr. McGregor was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. McGregor; and a grandson, Jonathan Addington.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynda Addington and her husband, Harry, of Oxford; a son, Gaylan McGregor and his wife, Janie, of Clinton; one sister, Alice Wood of Caldwell, Ark.; three grandchildren, Shawn McGregor of Brandon, Matthew McGregor of Clinton and Melanie Addington-Singh of Oxford; and four great-grandchildren, Aidan Addington of Oxford, and Hayes McGregor, Riley McGregor and Rae McGregor, all of Brandon.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Lynch, Wayne Patrick, Tony Thomas, James Valentine, Steve Sullivan and Ron Goldman.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult 5 Sunday school department at Bowmar Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Bowmar Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
