Gerald E. Braddock
Gerald E. Braddock died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 69.
A native of Ripley, Miss., Mr. Braddock was a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law. He moved to Vicksburg in the early 1960s. He served stints as attorney for the Warren County Board of Supervisors and the Warren County Port Commission and was a member of the Port Commission. He was also president of the Mississippi Board of Supervisor Attorneys. He served the Mississippi Bar Association in many capacities, including the review panel for judgeships.
He also served as chancery judge. He served terms as president of the Ole Miss Alumni Association and the Warren County Bar Association. He was an elder at First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Braddock of Vicksburg; his daughter, Schuyler Braddock Oaks and her husband, Larry, of Vicksburg; one son, Gerald Talmadge Braddock; and four grandchildren, Braddock Oaks, Jackson Oaks, Gerald Talmadge Braddock Jr. and Presley Marie Montgomery.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tim Erskine officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Louis Field, Dr. Charles Harbison, Dr. Kimble Love, Robert Mays, Kyle McCaskill, Don S. Miller Jr. and J. Mack Varner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Cappaert, Buddy Dees, Bobby Ellis, David Ellis, Hayward Green, Dr. Briggs Hopson, German Jordan, Robert McConnell, Jim Newman, Bobby Robinson, Newell Simrall III, Earnest Thomas and Chick Warner.

Gary Ellison Daymond
McHENRY – Gary Ellison Daymond, age 71 of McHenry, Miss., went to be with her Heavenly Father June 30, 2007. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by Keith Daymond, her husband of 52 years; three daughters, Audrey Buel of New Zealand, Julia Carlisle of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Paula West of Summit; one son, Thomas Daymond of McHenry; and six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Catherine West, Anthony and Shiloh Carlisle, and Carter and Ainsley Daymond. She is also survived by two sisters, Norma Buford and Betty Brown, both of Vicksburg; and eight nieces and nephews of Vicksburg and Centennial, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertie Ellison; her father, Dave Ellison; her brother, Dave Ellison Jr.; and three aunts, all of Vicksburg.
Besides being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she served the Lord as a secretary at Gulf Shore Baptist Assembly in Pass Christian and also as secretary to Dr. Bobby Perry of the Gulf Coast Baptist Association in Orange Grove. She was a faithful member of Perkinston Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk, Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Gary touched many throughout her life and all were enriched by her kindness, hospitality and love. She will always be remembered with genuine admiration for her infectious spirit and her unyielding faith in Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 5, at Perkinston Baptist Church in Perkinston. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Perkinston Cemetery.
Donations of Gideon Memorial Bibles are appreciated by the family.
Emma Lee Sellers
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Emma Lee Sellers died Monday, June 25, 2007, in San Francisco. She was 77.
Born in Hermanville, Miss., Sellers was the daughter of the late Willie and Missouri Howard. She graduated from high school in Vicksburg and from the Vicksburg Hospital’s licensed practical nursing program. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she graduated as a registered nurse from Mount Sinai Nursing School. She worked in private-duty nursing for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosie Brooks and Thelma Howard; and four brothers, Johnnie Lee Howard, Willie Lee Howard Jr., Robert Howard and Sidney Howard.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Michael Sellers of San Francisco; a sister, Edmonia S.M. Robinson of Vicksburg; one brother, Moses L. Howard, Ph.D., of Tacoma, Wash.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be July 21, 2007, in San Francisco.
