James Albert Dukes Jr.

JACKSON — James Albert Dukes Jr. died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 65.

Born in Pascagoula, Mr. Dukes was a former resident of Detroit. He retired from Daimler-Chrysler as a cost analyst and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Detroit. He was a veteran of the Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Athelstein P. Dukes; and one brother, Larry F. Dukes.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma S. Dukes of Jackson; one son, Zenitha K. Dukes; two brothers, Charles Dukes of Detroit and Ronnell Dukes of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters, Harriet Fudge, Hope Dukes-McGee, Shelia Smith and Pamela Russell, all of Detroit; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, cousins and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Carolyn Fulton

TALLULAH — Carolyn Fulton died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 75.

A lifelong resident of Tallulah, Mrs. Fulton was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, J.T. Fulton of Tallulah; two daughters, Cathy Blanche of Vicksburg and Georgia Hogan of College Station, Texas; two brothers, Mike Foster of Tallulah and Charles Foster of Orange, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with John W. Rushing officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 1 until the service.

Pallbearers will be Harry Hogan, Brian Blanche, Jamie Foster, Mike Foster Jr., Steven Foster and Chris Foster.

Louise Dodd Goza

GRACE — Louise Dodd Goza died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 76.

Born in Sunflower County, Mrs. Goza had been a resident of the Grace Community since 1981. She was a former employee of Delta Elastic Co. and the Double Quick convenience store. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Grace.

She is survived by two sons, Tracy Goza of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Todd Goza of Hattiesburg; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Lannis May officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until the service.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Goza, Todd Goza, Milton Goza, Mit Goza, Walter Goza and Mark Barnes.

Eliza Louise Washington Ford Grissom

Eliza Louise “Doll” Washington Ford Grissom died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.

Mrs. Grissom was a member of Morning Star Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she served on the mother board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Virginia Washington; three brothers, Andrew Lee Washington, Joe Washington Jr. and Robert Felton; one sister, Sarah Berry; and a son, Herbert Lee Washington.

Survivors include five sons, James Grissom of Jackson and George Ford, Ronnie Ford, Charlie Grissom and Zane Grissom, all of Vicksburg; six daughters, Connie Curtis, Lecie Thomas, Naya Thomas and Twylan James, all of Vicksburg, Debra Ward of Jackson and Lowrain Knox of Austin, Texas; 28 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nephews, friends and other relatives, including members of the Bell, Berry, Cox and Williams families of Vicksburg.
