Dorothy C. Fisher
Services for Dorothy C. Fisher will be at noon Tuesday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Blackmore Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fisher died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at her home. She was 71.
Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Fisher retired as cafeteria manager from the Warren County School District after 23 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fisher; a brother, Samuel Bishop Jr.; her parents, Samuel Bishop Sr. and Helen Lee Bishop; paternal grandparents, George Bishop and Cora Bishop; maternal grandparents, James and Mary Lee; and aunts and uncles.
Survivors include a sister, Bettie Thomas of Vicksburg; a stepson, Gregory Cooper of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and other relatives, including Helena Williams and Leonette Thomas of Vicksburg, Cornell Thomas of Washington, D.C., Joseph Herndale of Cleveland, Ohio, and members of the Johnson, Trussell and Lee families.
Ollie Mae Johnson
Ollie Mae Johnson died today, Jan. 14, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 65.
Ms. Johnson was a member of Zion Travelers M.B. Church. She was a retired employee of Cracker Barrel and Pemberton Cafeteria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Julia Johnson; and a sister, Pearlean Johnson Hollins.
She is survived by three sons, Dwight Johnson of Greenville and James Phil Johnson and Douglas Miller of Vicksburg; six sisters, Wilena Cole of Jackson, Julia Fisher of New Orleans, Hattie Haley of Houston, Texas, Geneva Trahan of Inglewood, Calif., and Mary Burns Gray and Carrie Carson, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Amos Johnson Jr. of New Orleans and Simmie Johnson of Vicksburg; one granddaughter; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Kimberly McKay of Vicksburg and members of the Neal and Turner families.
Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson has charge of arrangements.
