Patrick hands sentences to nine convicted in circuit court|[03/15/08]

In the Warren County Circuit Court during the week that ended Friday:
Lar’ray Montrial Armstrong, 24, 603 Florence Ave., pleaded guilty to non-residential burglary.His conviction stems from a burglary that occurred Aug. 3, 2006, at Fordice Construction Co., 1798 Old Highway 27. He was sentenced by Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick to five years, with no years to serve in prison and the balance suspended for five years based on good behavior and compliance with the judge’s orders. Those orders include five years of probation for Armstrong. The defendant was also ordered to pay $1,330.50 in fines, court costs, assessments and restitutions.
Angela Denise Barnett, 36, 103 Berryman Road Lot 13, pleaded guilty to credit-card fraud, which stems from offenses that occurred April 5 and April 19 at 103 Smith Drive. Patrick sentenced Barnett to four years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Barnett was found eligible for the 9th Circuit District Drug Court program, and Patrick ordered to withhold Barnett’s sentence pending completion of the program. In addition, Barnett was ordered to pay $1,312.50 in fines, court costs and drug court fees.
Kenneth Raymond Butler, 37, Youngs Alley, pleaded guilty to sale of a controlled substance at North Washington Street and Kings Crossings on May 1. He was sentenced by Patrick to serve 10 years in prison and was ordered to pay $5,312.50 in fines, court costs and assessments.Partick handed a five-year sentence to Arthur Lee Johnson, 56, 727 Adams St. No. 3. Johnson had pleaded guilty to a non-residential burglary on July 30, 2006, at Adams and First East streets. Johnson was ordered to serve 1 1/2 years of his sentence in prison, which will be followed by three years of probation. Johnson was also ordered to pay $312.50 in fines, court costs and assessments.
Patrick sentenced Christy E. Lewis, 26, 205 Buena Vista Drive, who had been convicted of two counts of felony bad check. Lewis was handed a three-year sentence with no years to serve and the balance suspended for five years based on good behavior and compliance with the judge’s orders. Included in those orders is five years of probation for Lewis. She was also ordered to pay $2,016.99 in fines, court costs, assessments and restitutions.
Lewis had been arrested for crimes Oct. 1, and Oct. 5 at Wal-Mart SuperCenter and IGA.
Kimberly Lynn McCarty, 34, 1001 First North St., pleaded guilty to false pretense. The offense was Dec. 7, 2006, at Fast Cash, 2200-B Clay St. Patrick sentenced her to three years, with no years to serve and the balance suspended for five years conditioned upon good behavior and compliance with the judge’s orders. Those orders include five years of probation. She was also ordered to pay $3,026.60 in fines, court costs, assessments and restitutions.Patrick sentenced Willie Lee Myles, 24, no street address available, to three years in prison. Myles had pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, which stemmed from a March 29 offense at the Deluxe Inn, 2751 N. Frontage Road.
Mitlon Stokes Jr., 36, 1413 Baldwin Ferry Road, pleaded guilty to non-residential burglary at St. Aloysius High School, 1900 Grove St. Stokes received a seven-year sentence from Patrick, with no years to serve and the balance suspended for five years based on good behavior and compliance with the judge’s orders. Patrick further ordered Stokes to five years of probation and to pay $3,527.50 in fines, court costs, assessments and restitutions.
Nicholas Dean Ringold, 26, 105 Elm Lane, was convicted of weapon possession after a felony conviction and was sentenced by Patrick to serve one year in prison. Ringold had been arrested April 24 at his home.
