Charlie T. Prevost
Mr. Charlie T. Prevost died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Heritage House in Vicksburg. He was born July 25, 1922, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, and grew up in Attala County. He served in Guam during World War II in Company 42 Signal Battalion. He worked for more than 30 years for Yazoo Valley EPA, serving as an area manager in Redwood.
Mr. Prevost was a member of the Redwood Methodist Church and served as song leader and Sunday school teacher among other positions. He also served for 13 years on the Warren County School Board.
Mr. Prevost’s hobbies were hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved all sports, his family, his work and his many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Katherine Oakes Prevost of Vicksburg; two sons, Carlos Prevost of Clinton and Craig Prevost of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a brother, Carl Prevost of Laurel.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Willis Britt officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Brister Cemetery near Kosciusko. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tom Akers, Edward McKnight, Larry Burroughs, Howard Park, Andy Covington, Johnny Hughes, Guy Martin and Zak Prevost.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Redditt, Ronnie O’Quinn, Jay Hughes, Dr. Lee Giffin, Bubba Malone, Dennis Coulter, Tony Green and retired members of Yazoo Valley EPA.
