From staff reports
The Vicksburg Theatre Guild has announced the offerings of its 73rd season.
The 2008-09 season will include four main-stage plays, a one-act play, two runs of the guild’s signature production, “Gold in the Hills,” Fairy Tale Theatre, for ages 7-18 and a supplemental performance of “Always…Patsy Cline.”
This season marks the addition of a one-act play to the guild’s usual four main-stage productions. “Jenny St. Joan,” will be the guild’s entry to the 2009 Mississippi Theatre Association Festival.
“We have a directors’ proposal process, and we felt the five plays merited performances,” said Mike Calnan, Vicksburg Theatre Guild’s marketing director. “They all have appeal in different ways.”
Season memberships are available for the five main-stage plays, “Gold in the Hills” and Fairy Tale Theatre. Early-bird rates are available before July 31. For information, call 601-636-0471.
