Services for Clarence James Sr. will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Jackson Street M.B. Church with the Rev. James Sheard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill. Visitation will be from 3 until 6 tonight at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. James died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 79.

Mr. James was a truck driver for Waring Oil/Neill Gas. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nettie Stewart Pallard; three sisters, Pearlie Stewart, Thelma Williams and Earline James Howard; and one brother, Pete James.

He is survived by his wife, Ella M. James of Vicksburg; two daughters, Dorothy LaVon Holmes of Vicksburg and Patricia James Davis of Morganville, N.J.; two sons, Gregory James of Vicksburg and Clarence James Jr. of Willington, Calif.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including the Lee and Chiplin families.
