City sponsoring adult hoops league

The Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor an adult 5-on-5 basketball league this winter. There will be men’s, women’s and church leagues, and games will be played at the Jackson Street Community Center. The entry fee is $125 per team, plus $15 for each non-city resident and $25 for each non-county resident. Registration is open from Nov. 3 to Dec. 19. Clear Creek Ladies weekly golf report

On Wednesday and Saturday, the ladies of clear creek will host their annual “turkey shoot.”

 Check in time on Wednesday will be 8:30 a.m. with tee off at 9. Check in time on Saturday will be 9:30 a.m., with tee off at 10:00.

YMCA taking youth basketball registration

The Vicksburg YMCA is accepting registration for boys and girls youth basketball. The league is open to children in grades 3-8, and the season runs from Dec. 5 to Jan. 24. Please register at the Purks YMCA branch on East Clay Street.
