Leon B. Waldon

ROLLING FORK — Leon B. Waldon died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. He was 85.

A Columbus native, Mr. Waldon had lived in Rolling Fork for 57 years. He retired from Delta Implement Co. as a mechanic. He served in the Army.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon G. and Audie M. Waldon.

Survivors include his wife, Irma B. Waldon of Rolling Fork; three sons, John Waldon and Joey Waldon, both of Rolling Fork, and Robert Waldon of Oden, Ark.; two brothers, Gene Waldon of Tiptonville, Tenn., and James Waldon of Benton, Ky.; three sisters, Ovie Lee Sims of Columbus, Miss., Shirley Ann Wilson of Tiptonville and Doris Morris of Horn Bek, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Chapel in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Millard L. Caulder officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
