Vehicle stolen; burglars hit five others

One auto theft and five vehicle burglaries were reported in the city Thursday and this morning, said Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart.
At 5:53 this morning in the 100 block of Linda Drive, the theft of a gray 2002 Mazda Protege was reported. The car, valued at $12,000, has Mississppi tag number WAM376.
A 2004 Ford F-150 pickup was reported burglarized at 7:10 a.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Frontage Road. Stolen were a Motorola cell phone valued at $150 and Swarovski binoculars valued at $1,100.
At 12:43 p.m. Thursday, a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup was reported burglarized in the 2200 block of Cherry Street. Stolen were a Pioneer CD player and two speakers valued at $450, an iPod valued at $100.
At 1:09 p.m. Thursday, a 2006 GMC pickup was reported burglarized in the 2100 block of Oak Street. A GPS unit valued at $350 and a Smith and Wesson .38-caliber revolver valued at $250 were reported stolen.
A 2002 Dodge Stratus was reported burglarized in the 1300 block of Baum Street at 6:46 p.m. Stolen was an Alpine CD player valued at $200.
A 1998 Toyota Camry in the 3000 block of North Frontage Road was reported burglarized at 11:04 p.m. Thursday.
Stolen was a Vantage purse valued at $60, with contents including personal items and $100.
Vicksburg man jailed for uttering forgery
A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning after being arrested by the Mississippi Department of Corrections Thursday.
Michael D. Lyons, 25, 1339 East Ave., is charged with uttering a forgery. Bond had not yet been set.
